Hebrews 1-7

Jesus is the final word from God. He spoke through the patriarchs, He spoke through the prophets, and in these last days He has spoken through His Son. This reminds me of the parable of the Vine-growers from Mark 12.1-12. Jesus is a Man, but He is not just a man like us, He is the Son of God. Jesus is sent from God, but not sent like an angel, Jesus is God.

Jesus made all things and has inherited all things. HE has made pure a people by His own blood and sat down at the Right Hand of the Father, the Majesty on high. All belongs to Jesus, to those who come to Him by faith He will deal well with. Jesus was briefly humbled, He tasted death as a Man so that we do not taste death. He rendered the devil powerless by defeating sin and death. We can live without fear of death because of what Jesus did.

Jesus is our High Priest forever, because He lives forever to make intercession for us. The Law was just a picture of things to come. The priests under the Law had to make sacrifices for themselves and the people. Jesus did not make sacrifice for Himself, He being perfect sacrificed Himself for us once for all time.
