Dear Neighbor,
This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. I do not know who you are or where you are in the world but I do know that you are special because you were created in the image of God; therefore, a son or daughter of the living God. No, you are not “The Son of God!” There is but one, the Lord Jesus Christ who holds that title, for God made him first in all things. However, the Scriptures attest that we are all sons and daughters of the Father God, justified as a gift, by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly as a merciful atoning sacrifice in his blood through faith. (Rom. 3:23-25)
Why did Jesus have to die? It is because of our sin that he had to die. “He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.” (Rom. 4:25) However, the main reason that Jesus had to die was to demonstrate the righteousness of God who passed over our sins (Rom. 3:25-26) He passed over our sins and applied them to Jesus Christ. “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (1 Cor. 5:21) This understanding is what led me to repent and believe in Jesus Christ and I hope that it leads you to Christ as well.
